Some wedding days come with perfect sunshine. Others come with rain from morning until night. Alyssa and Mike's wedding at West Avenue Cider House was definitely the latter!

From 9 a.m. right through until midnight, it rained almost the entire day. We only got about a 30-minute break in the weather during the reception, and you better believe we took full advantage of it to sneak outside for a few portraits. Honestly though, the rain never put a damper on the celebration. The entire day was filled with great energy, lots of laughter, and a couple who were completely focused on enjoying every moment together.

The day started in the venue's cottage, which made the perfect getting-ready space for Alyssa and her bridesmaids. It was bright, cozy, and gave us plenty of room for all the morning excitement. We also used the cottage for Alyssa and Mike's first look and some of their couple portraits before the ceremony.

After that, we headed into the barrel room at West Avenue Cider House for more portraits. This space is one of my favourite indoor locations at the venue. Between the rustic barrels, warm Edison bulbs, and moody atmosphere, it creates such a unique backdrop for photos. The rainy weather actually added to the vibe and helped create some really dramatic and romantic images.

The barrel room also became the perfect location for wedding party photos, family photos, and ultimately the ceremony itself. While the original plan was to get married outside on the lawn, the indoor setup worked beautifully and allowed everyone to stay comfortable and dry.

The reception took place in the cider tasting house, where the party really got going. From the speeches to the dancing, it was an incredible celebration and the perfect way to end the day.

Alyssa and Mike, thank you so much for having me as your photographer. It was such a fun day to be a part of, and I am so happy we were able to create such beautiful images together despite the rain. Enjoy reliving your wedding day through these photos!
