Alison & Doug’s Black-Tie Wedding at The Diplomat in Hamilton was such a blast! We kicked things off with the getting ready photos at their home, and wow, was it bustling with excitement! The house was filled with friends and family, and the energy was so contagious. There’s just something about capturing those early moments — the laughter, the nerves, and, of course, the heartfelt gift and letter exchange. These two shared the sweetest notes before their first look, and it was adorable!
Next, we headed over to Dundurn Castle for some fun wedding party photos. They had quite the crew, and let me tell you, the vibes were so lively! We got some amazing group shots, with the backdrop of Hamilton’s iconic castle adding that perfect touch of elegance. Afterward, I had a blast capturing just Alison & Doug for a few intimate portraits. These two just radiate love!
Our next stop was one of my all-time favorite spots, Whitehern Historic House in downtown Hamilton. The gardens, the old architecture, everything about this place screams timeless beauty. Alison & Doug looked like they were straight out of a fairy tale as we snapped some truly stunning portraits here.
Finally, we made our way to the heart of the city, The Diplomat for family formals and some more couples’ portraits. This restaurant venue is everything for those sleek, modern city wedding vibes. The shots we got by the bar? Perfection! And the indoor lighting was a dream for those moody, intimate moments.
Since Alison & Doug had already tied the knot last fall (I was lucky enough to capture their intimate outdoor ceremony, too!), this day was all about celebrating with their loved ones. The reception was full of sweet speeches, mingling, and, of course, dancing! Their first dance and the parent dances were filled with so much love and joy, and the open dance floor kept the good times rolling all night long.
Alison & Doug, thank you both for letting me be a part of your special day — twice! Capturing your love story has been an absolute honor.
