There’s something about a rainy wedding day that just adds a touch of magic, and Lisa & Nick’s celebration at The Waterfront Banquet & Conference Centre was exactly that! We started the day at McMaster University, where the couple and their wedding party embraced the moody, overcast skies. The rain earlier in the day brought out the deep tones in the historic stone buildings, and those iconic McMaster arches were pure perfection as backdrops. With their love and laughter echoing through every frame, the whole crew made my job a breeze—and dare I say, an absolute blast!
The ceremony itself moved indoors due to the drizzle, but honestly, that made it all the cozier and more intimate. The Waterfront Banquet Centre set up a beautiful indoor space that was so elegant and romantic. Lisa and Nick exchanged vows surrounded by friends and family, and there was so much warmth in the room that you’d never guess it was cloudy outside!
Afterward, we ventured outside for more couple portraits by the waterfront. I absolutely love how the clouds added a soft, diffused light that made the lakeside views even dreamier. Lisa and Nick were amazing—totally up for a few misty waterfront shots, and those images really capture the unique, moody charm of their day.
The evening wrapped up with heartfelt speeches that had everyone laughing (and tearing up a little!) before we all hit the dance floor. This group knows how to party! I loved capturing every moment of the celebration and those candid, joy-filled expressions.
